Passenger Ships |
 |
Passenger ships are generally fitted with two contra-rotating Voith Schneider Propellers (VSP) at the stern, with blade diameters of 1.4 to 2.4 metres. Each is driven by an engine, generally directly by a diesel engine.
The VSP is used on passenger ships for inland waters, an example being those operating on Germany's Lake Constance.
To date, over 150 of these propellers have been fitted to passenger ships as the primary source of propulsion.
