Hyloc

Design and function

The Hyloc connecting coupling consists of a hollow sleeve, where the internal chamber a conical ring piston is moved hydraulically. The ensuing radial expansion produces a backlash-free connection between a shaft and a hub. The pressure required for assembly is normally 1,000 bar. A maximum of 1,200 bar is usually required for disassembly. After assembly, the oil is drained, so that there is no oil pressure in the coupling during operation. The same applies for disassembly. The ring piston is provided with specially arranged lubrication grooves, hence a lubricating film is created when the ring piston moves between the working surfaces.
The connections for the hydraulic pump can be fitted axially or radially, as required. Special fast acting oil couplings are available for rapid connection of the pump.

Features:
  • Backlash-free connection
  • Fast setting and release
  • High transmission capacity
  • High concentricity
  • High permissible radial forces
  • Self-centring
