The analog turbine control system Turcon Ct has been used since 1976 in over 1300 turbines and compressors in the world. Since 1994 Voith Turbo has offered the Turcon D as the official successor generation for the Turcon Ct - the digital control system Turcon D.
All OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) installations equipped with the analog Turcon Ct technology can be retrofitted to the digital generation Turcon D without difficulty.
Included are the following manufacturers:
- SGP (Simmering Graz Pauker) Today: Siemens
- MAN Turbo
- B+VI, today MAN Turbo in Hamburg
- AEG Kanis (later Alstom, today Siemens)
- KK&K, today Siemens
- Nadrowski, today Dresser Rand
- M+M Turbinentechnik
- Fortum
Which changes occur with retrofitting?
With the use of digital Turcon D control systems, all the advantages of modern turbine control can be used. You can also continue to make use of the advantages of your previous analog turbine control. The digital control system can be programmed and parameterized so that all of your previous turbine control functions can be fulfilled. Both the actuator technology as well as the speed sensors can be retained. No mechanical work is necessary on the turbine.
What are the advantages?
- Increased service friendliness: remote diagnoses, parameter changes, or program changes can be carried out on running turbines per modem
- Additional regulation functions can be integrated as needed
- The system can be directly interfaced to process control engineering via bus interfaces
- Secure spare parts availability
Note: the single component that is available until further notice are the speed controllers for the analog controller Turcon CTn.
