Drawbars with Albert head are mainly used on light rail vehicles such as tramcars and city railways where the coupling frequency is low.
They are characterized by low price and weight and simple handling. The design is robust, long-lived and requires little maintenance.
The connection of the drawbars is made by means of connecting pins. The drawbars can be provided with a folding knuckle (joint) which allows the uncoupled drawbar to be folded under the car. |
