Transverse drive - single/double-stage helical type

The transverse motor is located in the bogie, the single or double-stage helical gear is positioned on the final drive shaft.  A torque reaction rod is provided to react the tractive forces back into the bogie frame. The pinion shaft has separate bearing arrangements and seals. A cardanic muff coupling is positioned between motor and transmission.
