Voith final drives – longitudinal drives |
 |
The term "longitudinal drive" refers to the position of the drive motor axle in relation to the vehicle and/or bogie.
Drives where the drive motors are arranged longitudinally to the vehicle have to be angled to enable the axles to be driven. This occurs via a bevel gear stage which can be preceded by a helical gear set for torque reduction. Voith turbo offers a standard program of single and double-stage final drives that are rigidly connected with the axle. Final drives, axle and drive wheels form a complete, solid unit. |
