| In 2001, RAJA Passenger Train, the passenger service arm of Iranian Islamic Republic Railways (RAI) placed an order with Siemens Austria for 20 inter-city Diesel Multiple Units (DMUs) for initial use on the 1000 km Tehran-Mashad route. The result is the DH4-1 trainset, which uses proven technology to ensure high reliability and availability. The steel structure trainsets have underfloor traction packages, and are designed to run at high speed (up to 160 kph) on non-electrified tracks. | |||||||||||||||||
