The demands on lower noise emissions of rail vehicles and hence their cooling systems are continuously rising. At the same time, diesel engines are subject to stricter exhaust regulations, which, in turn, result in higher demands on the cooling performance. The development of the SilentVent incorporates all recent findings, such as stator-rotor interaction in the housing and peripheral influences. The outcome: the geometry of this new fan has been significantly improved and the acoustics of inflow and outflow have been substantially improved, resulting in the quietest fan unit of all times.
