Operating Principle geared variable-speed couplings

Voith geared variable-speed couplings combine mechanical gears and a hydrodynamic variable-speed coupling in one common housing, whose lower part is designed to serve as an oil tank. The coupling fill can be varied as needed during operation by means of a scoop tube. As a result the engine speed and power transmitted by the driven machine can be controlled steplessly.

  • Power savings and extension of driven machine life compared to throttle control
  • Precise load adaptation of driven machine
  • High contol accuracyand fast reaction times
  • Vibration damping
  • Relieved motor start-up and smooth acceleration of heaviest masses
  • Robust and compact design
  • Easy maintenance, low maintenace cost
  • Long service life
